Hello,
Hope all is well with you and yours. Today focused on being considerate and the benefits I have experienced. First I want to start with two definitions of considerate, that express my thoughts:
- from Merriam Webster – thoughtful of the rights and feelings of others.
- from Dictionary.com – showing kindly awareness or regard for another feelings, circumstances etc. Now let’s address what sparked todays post, our representatives on Capitol Hill. There are several issues that need to be handled and addressed, but as a federal employee I am addressing this one: threat of another government shutdown again. Being that I work in an office that I get firsthand information how for the most part this is a lack of regard and consideration for not just federal employees and their families but for a large portion of the country. Yes, it’s a good chance that it won’t be a shutdown, or it won’t last long. The threat causes undo stress for some which can lead to doubt, worry and fear. Being considerate works both ways, for the person receiving and the person giving. For the person receiving it’s a feeling of appreciation and respect. For the person giving, it can have a profound effect on us. Mentally and physically, it gives a sense of peace, satisfaction and tends to put us in a positive state. As with all things sowing and reaping is absolute. So, I ask today and moving forward let’s all be a little more considerate in our: thoughts, actions and words. Plus remember always be thankful.
